Risk of re-infection with COVID-19 is higher in older people

People over 65 are at a higher risk of reinfection with coronavirus, according to a Danish study published in the scientific journal Lancet.

According to the results of the study, in general, the level of protection against re-infection in patients with coronavirus is 80.5 percent, but among people over 65 years of age, it drops to 47.1 percent.

Earlier, the chief researcher of the World Health Organization (WHO) Sumiya Swaminathan said that the organization has data on re-infections with new strains of COVID-19, despite the presence of antibodies to the virus.
