Romania banned Russian courts to enter their ports

Romania’s authorities decided to prohibit vessels under the Russian flag to enter Romanian ports, the press service of the Romanian Marine Administration said.

From 00.00 hours on April 17, 2022, it is forbidden to enter the Romanian ports of any vessels registered under the Russian flag, including vessels who changed the Russian flag to the flag of any other state or replaced their registration in Russia for registration in any other state after February 24, 2022, “the report says, RIA Novosti reports.

Exception will be done if the ship needs help and is looking for refuge, needs emergency stop in the port for security reasons or to save human lives.

In addition, the restrictions do not apply to ships, which are carrying gas, oil and petroleum products into the EU, titanium, aluminum, copper, nickel, palladium, iron ore, some chemical products, unauthorized pharmaceutical goods, food, agricultural products, fertilizers, nuclear fuel and equipment for nuclear power plants, coal and other types of fossil fuels.
