Romanian deputies and senators on November 23 at a joint meeting adopted a declaration in which the hunger of 1932-1933 in Ukraine is recognized as a crime committed against the Ukrainian people and humanity, writes the newspaper AgerPres.
In the document, the Romania Parliament condemns this act against the Ukrainian people, which led to millions of victims, massive violations of the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens.
Deputy Alexander Muraru noted that Romania joins the democratic countries of the world that recognize and solemnly take on not only the honor of the victims of the famine of 1932-1933, but also “recognition of genocide, systematic, cynical, criminal acts of the Soviet Union and its leaders with the aim of the physical destruction of the Ukrainian nation. “
Deputies, as stated in the declaration, express solidarity with the Ukrainian people who suffered in this tragedy, and pay tribute to millions of victims of hunger 1932-1933.
