The Chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and Forced Migrants Rzrovan Rzayev met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany by Wolfgang Manig, accredited in our country by the Regional Head of Economic Cooperation in Germany Lidia Kristmann and the GİZ director of Karin Khorhard.
Guests were provided with detailed information on state policy held under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the field of working with refugees and forced migrants in our country. The important merits of the First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva were noted in this policy.
It was noted that as a result of the victorious completion of the 44-day Patriotic War, the cessation of the occupation of aggressive Armenia, the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country appeared the possibility of returning forced immigrants to their homeland, on the basis of orders of the head of state, the necessary measures were taken to ensure their voluntary worthy of and safe return.
It was noted that large-scale work was carried out on the liberated territories, infrastructure projects are being implemented, in the place of the villages completely destroyed by Armenians and cities are built by settlements of modern type. It was noted that mines and explosives seriously impede security, their neutralization took a lot of time and became a factor that slows down the return of forced immigrants.
It was emphasized that restoration and construction work was generally coordinated by the coordination headquarters created by the order of the head of state to address issues in these territories in a centralized manner. The main priority of great return is the effective use of the economic potential of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezura, ensuring a sustainable settlement of these territories on a community-based basis.
It was emphasized by the importance of the relations of the State Committee with the German Society of International Cooperation (GIZ) and thanked for the support of projects related to the forced migrants.
Guests thanked for a warm welcome. Highly appreciating the completion of the conflict in the region and the creation of conditions for the return of internally displaced persons, diplomats expressed the desire of the German government to assist in establishing a sustainable world and restoring intercommunal ties. It was also noted that in the future it is planned to continue supporting projects related to the forced migrants.
