In Antalya, where the Tournament of the Grand Slam on Judo takes place these days, a meeting took place between the President of Judo Federation of Azerbaijan by Rovnag Abdullayev and the President of the International Judo Federation (IJF) by Marius Vier.
During the meeting, Rovnag Abdullayev talked about measures aimed at the development of Azerbaijani judo, the high achievements of our athletes at the Olympic Games, World Championships and Europe.
He stressed that judo has rich traditions in Azerbaijan, noted the successes of domestic athletes at large competitions.
Marius Vier noted that Azerbaijan is already known worldwide as a sports country. According to him, attention that is paid to Azerbaijan at the State Level Development of Olympic Movement and Sport, has repeatedly received a high assessment of international sports organizations and federations.
Head IJF said that the “Big Slam” tournaments in Baku were always held at a high level.
Meeting participants also touched on fruitful cooperation between federations, the influence of the pandemic situation on the conduct of various tournaments and measures to ensure the stability of judo.
