The next presidential election in Equatorial Guinea, 80-year-old President Theodor Obiang Ngema Mbasogo, has been running for the country, leading the country since 1979, reports Reuters.
Obang Ngema has been in power for 43 years – longer than any head of the republican state in the world. He re -elected the president 5 times, receiving more than 90 percent of the vote. International human rights organizations and opposition call it a dictator.
Before the vote, Obang Ngema expressed confidence that he would win this time. Two of his opponents were allowed to the elections – one already 5 times was a candidate, the second is participating in the elections for the first time. The opposition candidate described the course of voting as universal falsifications, noting that the members of the election committee vote instead of voters. A relatively honest vote is observed only in the capital of the country of Malabo.
