The State Duma adopted in the first reading the bill of “United Russia”, which offers to consolidate the status of the St. George tape as one of the symbols of military glory of Russia and the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, Russian media write.
According to the initiative, companies will face a fine of three to five million rubles. A punishment for citizens may be a fine of up to three million rubles or imprisonment for up to three years. For desecration of the tape on the Internet, the authors of the project propose to say the perpetrators for a fine of two to five million rubles or deprivation of liberty up to five years.
