The trial in the Netherlands has every chance of becoming one of the most scandalous in the history of legal proceedings with its extensive list of oddities, inconsistencies and dubious arguments of the prosecution, which nevertheless formed the basis of the verdict. Such a statement was published by the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with a meeting of the District Court of the Hague, who sentenced two citizens of the Russian Federation and one Ukrainian in the case of the collapse of the Malaysian Boeing 777 in eastern Ukraine in July 2014.
The Russian Foreign Ministry believes that the results of the trial indicate that “it was based on a political order to reinforce the advanced Hague and its associates on the joint investigative group of the version of Russia’s involvement in the tragedy.”
“Despite the fact that our country is not a party to this process, the Dutch prosecutor’s office tried in every possible way to present the case differently. The court was assigned the role of a statist, whose task was to fit the corresponding evidence base for the conviction and neglect of the facts contrary to it. How we are as we are like we are. We see that the Dutch Themis coped with its task, ”the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
At the same time, the officials of Ukraine welcomed the verdict of the Hague, but noted that not only the contractors of the criminal order should be judged. “An important court decision in the Hague. The first sentences guilty of the MH17 disaster. But it is necessary that customers are also on the bench, because the feeling of impunity leads to new crimes,” President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky wrote in social networks. Also, the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kuleb called to the answer to the answer “The entire vertical of the command of Russian criminals”.
Today, the Gaga District Court found three of the four accused in the case of the collapse of the Malaysian Boeing 777 in the east of Ukraine in July 2014. Former “Minister of Defense” “DPR” Igor Strelkov (Girkin), retired GRU officer Sergey Dubinsky and a citizen of Ukraine, the former commander of the “DPR” Leonid Kharchenko in absentia sentenced to life imprisonment for the destruction of the aircraft and the murder of passengers. The fourth accused – the Russian lieutenant colonel of the reserve of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation Oleg Pulatov was justified. The court also stated that at the time of the crash of the aircraft, Russia had effective control over the leaders and supporters of the “DPR” in the east of Ukraine and ensured the training of military “republics”, the supply of weapons and food, carried out a serious impact on the DPR politicians and undertook military operations in this region .
