Documents on the registration of the vaccine from Coronavirus “Satellite Light” filed to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. This is stated on the website of the State Register of Medicines.
As the Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Alexey Kuznetsov told reporters on Monday, the Ministry of Health received a dossier for registration of the Satellite Light vaccine. “In the near future, the subordinate expert organization of the Ministry of Health of Russia will be examined by its quality, safety and efficiency, after which the appropriate decision will be made,” he said.
Russia first in the world on August 11, 2020 registered a vaccine from coronavirus, called “satellite V”. The drug was developed with the support of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RFI) by the National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N. F. Gamalei. “Satellite V” is a vector vaccine based adenovirus.
Satellite Light is a lightweight version of the drug “Satellite V”, it consists only of one component and requires only one vaccination instead of two. February 27, 2021 in Moscow began vaccination of participants in the vaccine study.
