Russia asks Israel “not to interfere” to transfer weapons to Ukraine

Russia turned to Israel with a request not to intervene and not to prevent the transfer of its defense equipment from Syria to Ukraine, reports The Times of Israel with reference to the words of the Israeli official on the air of the KAN-11 TRK.

The television company reported on Sunday that Israeli and Russian officials have been negotiating in recent days about the Kremlin’s concern. The Russian Embassy in Israel did not comment on this information.

The Times of Israel notes that although Israel and Russia “have long coordinated their actions in the Syrian airspace in order to avoid any clashes, relations became tense after the Russian invasion of Ukraine at the beginning of this year.” It is also noted that “Israel has struck hundreds of Syria strikes in order to prevent Iran to create a military bridgehead there and stop the supply of modern weapons of the Hezbollah Lebanese group.

At the same time, Russia provided thousands of military and military equipment to its ally of Syria, since the regime is fighting for the suppression of the Civil War.

In October, the media reported that Russia reduces its forces in Syria against the backdrop of deliveries during its ongoing war in Ukraine, including the abolition of the supply of the S-300 air defense system, which was the main threat to Israeli Air Force operations in the country.
