As a result of the “largest missile attack on the electric power infrastructure in the history of” Russia “damaged” almost all power plants of Ukraine with the exception of atomic ones. This was stated by the chairman of the board of Ukrenergo Vladimir Kudritsky in an interview with The Guardian.
“Unfortunately, the situation is critical. In addition to the power plants itself, more than 30% of the power grid substations redirected the flows of electricity. They (Russians – Ed.) Specially try to destroy the Ukrainian energy system that supplies tens of millions of people,” said Vladimir Kudritsky.
In his opinion, Russia wants to organize a “humanitarian catastrophe” in Ukraine. If you cannot protect yourself from Russian shots, “periods of disconnection of electricity in Ukraine will become more and more long,” said Vladimir Kudritsky.
He emphasized that Russia continues to destroy the energy system faster than it manages to restore. “It is clear that it is much easier to launch missiles than repairing substations,” the chairman of the board of Ukrenergo summed up.
