Russia demanded gas pipelines of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

Russia tried to get the gas transmission systems of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, writes “Gazeta.uz” with reference to a number of sources.

According to them, at first Moscow proposed supplying its gas in reverse order through Kazakhstan through the Central Asia -Center pipeline. “The main condition of the Russian side was the transfer of the gas transmission system of Uzbekistan to the ownership of Gazprom at the market value. Similar requirements were put forward by the National Company” Kazakgaz “, which did not agree to such conditions,” the publication noted.

Sources claim that Russia also demanded to “give in to the rights of gas export to China,” that is, Gazprom was supposed to become a party to the agreement instead of the Uzbekistani company Uzgaztraid.

countries agreed to hold additional meetings to assess the technical capabilities of gas supplies. However, the interlocutors consider it unlikely, since the scale of the necessary work requires significant amounts of financing.

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin made a proposal to create a “gas union”. The idea was to increase the supply of Russian gas to China – through the territory of the Central Asian countries. However, neither Astana nor Tashkent supported the proposal.
