Russia: fire in Covid-19 resuscitation: three dead

Three patients died as a result of a night fire in the intensive care unit of the regional clinical hospital. Semashko in Ryazan, another eight people suffered. Presumably, the reason for the ignition could be a large load on the wiring from IVL.

As reported by the Emergencies Ministry of the Russian Federation, the fire occurred in the procedural office of the resuscitation department, where patients with COVID-19 were found. “All dead poisoning products burning,” said Interfax in the hospital administration.

The victims also received poisoning of varying degrees of severity.

The cause of the fire, according to preliminary data, could be inflated by posting, told Interfax in the hospital. “Large load of IVL devices, wiring could not stand, caught fire,” said the agency’s interlocutor. According to the source of the Interfax, other versions are also considered: defective medical equipment and life support systems, as well as careless handling of some of patients or personnel.
