Russia was able to find buyers for coal, which Europe refused. According to the newspaper Vedomosti with reference to an overview of the experts of the Energy Development Center (CRE), in July, export volumes were redirected to India and China. The increase in deliveries for a month amounted to 60 and 42 percent, respectively.
according to the assessment of the CRE, the supply of Russian coal in July could decrease by about 3 million tons for a month, but the fall “was mainly compensated by the redirect volumes to the east. 6.7 million tons were delivered to China by the sea, 2 million to India – 2 million ton.
At the same time, experts note, Russian coal, regardless of the direction, is traded with discounts of more than $ 200 per ton (that is, 45-50 percent cheaper).
