The total number of Russian troops in Belarus can soon reach 20-22 thousand military personnel, writes military expert Konstantin Mashovets, his words are quoted by The Insider.
Now this figure is 10.5 thousand troops. According to the expert, there is an intensive transfer of manpower to the joint Russian-Belarusian “training centers”, where the process of active combat training of both Russian and Belarusian troops will be deployed.
Mashovets also notes that intensive movement of manpower goes at a speed significantly exceeding the rate of transfer of weapons and military equipment. But, according to him, this is not enough to deploy active hostilities.
On December 3, it was reported that the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense Sergei Shoigu arrived in Belarus for negotiations with Alexander Lukashenko and the Minister of Defense of Belarus Viktor Krenin. According to Lukashenko, the Belarusian and Russian “defenders of the Union State” will be able to reflect any aggression after joint training of units.
