The Kremlin thanked the governments of all countries that have assisted in the preparation of exchange operations conducted under the leadership of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT).
The Kremlin’s written statement says that by decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, all the prisoners who were returned as part of the exchange were softened by punishment.
The statement expresses gratitude to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko for the pardon of the German citizen Rico Kriger, sentenced to death.
“Moscow is grateful to the leaders of all countries who have assisted in the preparation of the exchange,” the message says.
The National Intelligence Organization of Turkey on Friday, on August 1, conducted the most comprehensive exchange operation over the last period, which included the exchange of 26 people in prisons in the USA, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, Russia and Belarus.
