The question of the prospect of Ukraine’s accession to NATO has an equally important for Russia, if more than for Ukraine itself. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov in an interview with the magazine “International Life”.
According to Ryabkova, Moscow requires NATO official revocation of the decision that Ukraine and Georgia will be able to join the North Atlantic Alliance in the future.
“We say that the further expansion of NATO is to be excluded in principle. All NATO activities must be returned to positions that existed at the time of signing the fundamental Act of Russia-NATO,” he said.
