The German division of the Russian television channel Russia Today – RT de Productions – announced the cessation of its activities in Germany. The application is published on the website of the television channel.
“RT de Productions, regrets the decision to stop the journalistic activity of the company in Germany. Nevertheless, RT de de contractions will remain available to you on this website,” the message said.
According to the channel, the decision to terminate the activity was associated with the “repressive restrictions on the freedom of the press and the media in the EU”, as well as “huge pressure from governments, media, corporations and other persons.”
In turn, the head of the German edition of RT Dinara Toktosunov explained that the channel was forced to stop its activities in Germany due to the ninth package of EU sanctions, which blocked the financing of RT de Productions. She also noted that the channel will continue to work from Moscow.
