Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran should intensify the work on combining the energy systems of the three states. This was announced by Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Nikolai Shulginov during a meeting with the Minister of Energy of Iran Ali Akbar Mehranbiana.
“One of the priority issues that must be taken into account when implementing the project is to ensure the reliability of the energy systems of Russia and Iran and the stability of their parallel work,” the head of the Russian department explained.
Moreover, the parties during the meeting discussed the current status of the Sirik TPP in Iran, as well as interaction in the field of electric grid. At the same time, the Iranian side emphasized interest in interaction in the construction of the TPP and renewable generation, as well as joint projects in Iran using Russian energy equipment, including gas turbines.
“Russian companies are interested in cooperation with Iranian partners in the transfer of gas turbine technologies and establishing their joint production. There is great potential for interaction,” Schulginov summed up.
