Russia, which is currently tense relations with Europe, is looking for new sales markets and has the opportunity to export gas to Pakistan transit through Azerbaijan, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak.
Russia and Iran can do this through gas exchange (swap-operation), writes the newspaper Pakistan Observer.
Russia, using the gas infrastructure of Azerbaijan, can transport gas to the southern region of Iran, in return Iran will put the same amount of gas to Pakistan.
Oil Minister Iran Javad Ouji said that official Tehran could receive financial returns in this process and eliminate the problem of gas in the southern regions of Iri.
Azerbaijan, in turn, in addition to obtaining transit revenues from gas export, increases transit capabilities and diversification of its gas.
