Russia welcomes and supports the upcoming negotiations on the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia, said the deputy postphem of the Russian Federation for the UN Dmitry Polyansky, report Russian media.
“It is not surprising that the meeting will take place in Moscow, we have good partnerships with both Turkey and Armenia,” he said.
Noting that there is no confidence between the parties, Polyansky pointed to the need to overcome it.
“If we succeed, then everyone will benefit from the restoration of normal good-neighborly relations between Armenia and Turkey. But at the moment we are quite far from this,” said the deputy postpour.
Polyansky also urged “move forward step by step, and encourage the possible actions of the two countries to normalize.”
