Russian Federation And Azerbaijan Created Working Group On Issue Of Shallowing Of Caspian Sea

Russia and Azerbaijan created a bilateral working group on the issue of shallowing of the Caspian Sea. This is stated in the message posted on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation.

“A working group consisting of representatives of relevant ministries and departments, research institutes of Russia and Azerbaijan, will study the problem of shallowing the Kaspian Sea. The decision on the creation of the group was made after the meeting of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev On August 19, 2024, during which the parties discussed issues related to the shallow of the Caspian Sea, ”the statement said.

It is noted that on October 2, 2024, the composition of the working group was formed – co -chairs were appointed Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Sergey Anopenko and Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rauf Gadzhiev.
