Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on a working visit, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The Russian Minister was adopted by Prime Minister Sheikh Khasina, and also held negotiations with his Bangladesh colleague Abdulkalam Abdul’s moment.
“The state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations were discussed. A mutual interest in continuing political dialogue and building mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation was confirmed. The experience of the interaction of the two countries within the United Nations and other multilateral structures was a positive assessment, the department will say.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during a meeting with the Russian Minister, Prime Minister Bangladesh Sheikh Hasin called for a way to stop the conflict between Russia and Ukraine through peaceful negotiations.
Lavrov became the first Minister of Foreign Affairs in the history of modern Russia, who made a visit to Bangladesh after gaining independence in 1971. Russia was one of the main allies of Bangladesh during the war for independence.
Lavrov later flew to India to participate in the G-20 Big Twenty summit
