It is impossible to be simultaneously in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union (EU), but it is a matter of Armenia, where it is better to be. This was stated by RIA Novosti Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin.
“We are convinced that it is impossible to be simultaneously in two multidirectional associations, like the EAEU and the European Union,” said Galuzin.
The deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry believes that the EAEU is an union of equal states, and the EU is a structure in which the stick discipline reigns, subordinate to the anti -Russian narratives set by the realities of Brussels bureaucrats. “
“The case is to decide where it is better to be. We hope that the Armenian society will be explained all the benefits from membership in the EAEU and the scale of losses from breaking up with the EAEU so that the Armenian society has an objective idea of reality,” the deputy minister said.
Armenia is a sovereign state that independently chooses the vector of its development, ”he added.
At the same time, Galuzin indicated that Russia and Armenia are discussing all relevant issues in an atmosphere of frankness.
“We are with Armenia allies, strategic partners. Therefore, we are in an atmosphere of frankness and trust in discussing all the current issues of our agenda,” he said.
Armenia Parliament on March 26 adopted in the second and final reading a bill on the country’s intention to join the European Union.
Later, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexei Overchuk, said that Yerevan will have to make a choice between the EAEU and the EU, since “it will not be possible to sit on two chairs.”
