Russian Foreign Ministry could not comment on discontent of Armenia

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, was unable to comment on the discontent of the speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alena Simonyan with a speech by a Russian representative at a meeting of the UN Karabakh and the situation on the Lachinsky road, Russian media reports.

According to her, first it is necessary to find out what exactly caused the discontent of the Armenian side.

“As for the performance of our representative, I must see what kind of dissatisfaction it caused an official you mentioned,” Zakharova said at a weekly briefing on Thursday.

On the eve of the representative of the UN Security Council, Anna Evstigneeva commented on the situation on the road of Lachin-Hankendi in connection with the demonstration of Azerbaijani eco-active. In response to this performance, the speaker of the Armenian parliament Alain Simonyan said that he did not understand the actions of Russia.

“Representatives of countries who do not have any close ties with Armenia have expressed more specifically. Russia either does not want to do this, either cannot, or does not want and cannot at the same time. This, however, does not surprise me”, he said.

Simonyan believes that one of the reasons for the “slurred” statement of the Russian side could be the fact that the road is in the area of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers.
