The Russian Foreign Ministry does not yet call the terms of the possible exclusion of the Taliban movement from the list of terrorist organizations prohibited in the Russian Federation. This was stated by TASS as a special representative of the President of Russia in Afghanistan, director of the Second Department of Asia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zamir Kabulov.
“So far everything is said. When the president makes a decision, then we will talk,” he said, answering the question of the timing and procedure of a possible exception.
In addition, the diplomat noted that the Foreign Ministry will not contact the Taliban at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PMEF).
“The Minister of Labor and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry come there, our Russian partners, if interested, are free to contact,” said the diplomat, answering the corresponding question, “he said.
Previously, Kabulov said that the Taliban sustainly hold control of Afghanistan.
“We believe that this power sustainably holds control of the country. This is fundamentally important for us. Because any disintegration of Afghanistan would have the most negative consequences for the entire region,” he said.
