The main headquarters of the Defense Forces of Estonia said on Tuesday about violation of the country’s airspace by a Russian helicopter, Interfax reports.
According to information, in the evening of June 18, the Mi-8 border guard helicopter violated the airspace of Estonia in the southeast of the country in the Koydul region. The incident lasted about two minutes. The helicopter did not present a flight plan and flew with the defendant turned off. Russian pilots did not have bilateral communication with the Estonian aviation dispatch service.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, in connection with the incident, called the Russian ambassador on Tuesday and handed him a note. This is the second violation of the airspace of the republic this year. Last year, Russian planes violated the Estonian border five times.
