In the territories captured by Russia, 1.3 million tons of grain were left for the purposes of a sowing campaign and ensuring daily food security. At the moment, it is known that the Russians have already taken out about 400 thousand tons of grain – this is almost a third of all stocks. About this, according to the Ukrainian media, said Taras Vysotsky, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
“there were no strategic reserves there. And we already have confirmation, from each region – the Zaporizhzhya region, the Kherson region, Donetsk, Lugansk – with each about 100 thousand were taken out, in total these are several hundred thousand tons of grains,” said Deputy Minister.
He emphasized that it is the grain intended for exemption that is exported – that is, for the nutrition of Ukrainians who live in these regions.
“This behavior is alarming: of course, we hope for our victory and that we will harvest there and everything will be fine, but in case of other circumstances, this situation can
to happen with a new harvest. And then food can simply become physically inaccessible to food for Ukrainians in these territories. If the stocks will not be exported so, but what was left there for food to a new harvest, there may be a threat of hunger, ”said Vysotsky.
