Russia’s international reserves in December 2024 decreased by 1.2 percent compared to the previous month, amounting to $ 609 billion.
According to the Central Bank of Russia, the country’s international reserves as compared to December 1, 2024 decreased by 1.2 percent, from 616.5 billion dollars to $ 609 billion.
International reserves consist of foreign currency, gold and other reserve assets that the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the Russian government control.
Western countries froze access to about half the reserves of the Russian Central Bank due to the war in Ukraine.
The share of gold in the international reserves of the Central Bank of Russia increased to 29.8 percent in July 2024, which is the highest indicator since February 2000.
