A special penitentiary service returned the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili from a military hospital in Gori to Prison No. 12 in Rustavi, where he was placed initially after the detention, says Sputnik Georgia with reference to Rustavi 2 TV channel.
“These people received a specific task that Saakashvili should meet the New Year in prison and they fulfill him,” said the Self-President’s associate, deputy of the parliament from the largest opposition party “Unified National Movement” Levan Habishvili to journalists at the hospital. He also recalled the words of Saakashvili, who used to declare that if he was taken away from the hospital to prison, he would resume the hunger strike.
Special penitentiary service has not yet made applications.
The translation of the ex-president was planned on December 27, but the penitentiary service postponed him due to the deterioration of the health status of the ex-president. According to Saakashvili, he lost consciousness when he had resisted those who tried to take him from a military hospital.
