Ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili said that he would return to his homeland to the elections to local authorities, which should take place in October.
“I want to report my decision. I, Mikhail Saakashvili, will come to Georgia before this referendum (elections to local authorities). … I will definitely be a direct member of this process,” Saakashvili said on Tuesday during Video in contact with their supporters, TASS reports.
He explained that he calls the upcoming elections to the referendum, since the agreement between the authorities and the opposition contains a condition for supporting the ruling party during the voting. When it is not fulfilled, early elections to parliament in 2022 should be appointed.
