Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyev held a meeting with representatives of the Bar Collegium.
Welcoming guests, S. Alieva told about the activities headed by her. Sabina Aliyeva pointed out that during the pandemic period and military situation, the Ombudsman’s institute continuously continued to work. She also noted work to effectively ensure the rights of vulnerable groups of the population, as well as successful cooperation with lawyers in this area.
Chairman of the Balconies College Anar Bagirov provided information on the work done in the field of advocacy. It was noted that due to increased interest in the bar and the transparent exams, the number of lawyers increased to two thousand, and the number of functioning lawyers – up to 100.
The event also discussed issues of providing professional legal assistance to citizens in cooperation with the Center for Legal Assistance and Training, the organization of joint training programs for further improvement of the professional level of lawyers, emphasized the importance of effective cooperation in this direction.
