A working visit in the capital of Austria Vienna Chairman Milli Majlis Sahib Gafarova met with the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union by Martin Chunong.
According to Haqqin.az in the press service of Milli Majlis, at the meeting of Sahib Gafarov expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Noting that over the past period, very fruitful visits of official representatives of the structure in Azerbaijan took place, the speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament said that this organization plays an important role in establishing and strengthening inter-parliamentary bonds on a global scale.
Sahib Gafarov noted that Milli Majlis, collaborating with international parliamentary structures on a bilateral and multilateral basis, attaches great importance to expanding links with the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
During the conversation, detailed information on new realities in the region, the victory of Azerbaijan in the 44-day Patriotic War, held in our country to work on the implementation of a tripartite statement of November 10 last year. Currently, Azerbaijan is working to deminister, improvement and construction in the liberated Karabakh.
The Chairman of Milli Majlis also met with the Chairman of the Latvian Parliament by Inara Murneyz. Sahib Gafarov noted that it attaches great importance to the development of connections with a country friendly for us, which is a strategic partner of Azerbaijan in various fields. The Chairman of Milli Majlis said that after the restoration of each of the countries of state independence, a new stage began in the development of bilateral relations, and over the past period was carried out successful cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres. By emphasizing the special role of heads of state in the development of bilateral relations, Sahib Gafarov noted the importance of mutual visits of the leaders of the two countries.
at the meeting it was said that there is close cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia within the framework of European structures and eastern partnerships, as well as on other international platforms, and bilateral relations established within the framework of international organizations rely on the principles of mutual respect and equal cooperation.
In turn, Inar, Murniez, expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries. She noted that Latvia attaches great importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan. It was reported that a high level of bilateral political relations has a positive effect on the economic, cultural and humanitarian sphere.
