An important role in expanding the Self-employment program is played by the “Project of Employment in Azerbaijan” of the World Bank. For project participants, in which 22,000 unemployed will be involved during the five year period, activities have already been identified in order to create their own small businesses. The number of applicants applied for this is about 3 thousand.
As the HAQQın.az was told in the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, this was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sakhil Babaev at a meeting with the Regional Director of the World Bank in the South Caucasus Sebastian Molyneus.
The Minister informed about the work carried out on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev in the direction of expanding social protection programs and active employment covered by these programs of vulnerable groups of the population, social reforms.
Sakhil Babayev brought to the attention of the interlocutor, the importance of joint projects between the World Bank and the Ministry for the past period. It was also noted that in recent years the Agenda of Cooperation covers new directions.
S. Babaev said that a new experience of cooperation was formed to improve labor legislation and disability assessment systems based on advanced international experience, policy and procedures related to disability.
The Minister also noted cooperation with the International Finance Corporation. He brought the importance of this cooperation in the field of control on the basis of risks and creating an improved mechanism in the labor inspection system, preparation for this necessary institutional base.
The meeting was discussed by the work on joint projects of the World Bank and the Ministry, as well as the prospects for further cooperation.
