In the first four months of this year, sales of new cars in Russia increased by 71 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 552,700 units.
A written statement by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation contains information about the Russian automobile sector, in which, due to sanctions, Western companies stopped deliveries.
The statement notes that sales of domestic cars in the first four months of the current year increased by 35 percent compared to the same period of 2023 and increased to 322 thousand. According to this information, the sales of new cars over the specified period increased by 71 percent compared to the same period last year and increased to 552 thousand 700.
Western automobile companies that occupied a leading position in the Russian market until February 2022, announced their departure from the country with the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
