Moldova President Maya Sanda appealed to the Constitutional Court for the dissolution of Parliament. Reports about it “Radio Liberty”.
She believes that all legitimate conditions are complied with this procedure. Sanda asked judges to confirm the correctness of her position.
“I, like experts on constitutional law, believe that there are legal entities for the dissolution of parliament,” she said after the Parliament in which the socialists dominated, could not approve her candidate for the post of Prime Minister – Igor Grosu. He did not get the necessary votes due to the lack of a quorum.
Sanda, at the same time, criticized the current parliament, saying that it includes corrupt deputies that “deplete the country”.
After this announcement, the Chairman of the Socialist Party and the former President Igor Dodon said that his political force would use “all legal means” to prevent early elections during the coronavirus pandemic.
Previously, Dodon accused Sandu in the usurpation of power and compared it with the Führer. “In Moldavian politics, there is already a” Pokemon “and” Balablas “, now the Führer appeared,” he said.
Before that, Sandu did not obey the decision of the Constitutional Court and said that he would not put forward a new candidate for the Prime Ministers in cooperation with parliamentary parties. Initially, the president was going to re-nominate the candidacy of Natalia Gavrilitsa who had already rejected by deputies – so that after re-refusing the deputies to approve it – and dissolve the parliament. Now she intends to achieve elections in another way – using the provision of the law that permits to dissolve the parliament if he will not approve a new government in three months.
If it does not work, Sanda intends to hold a referendum about his resignation, so that citizens either refuse to trust, or supported her course on early elections.
