Moldova President Maya Sandu took part in a meeting in Athens with the participation of officials from Western Balkans, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Ukraine and the leaders of the European Union, the press service of the head of state reports.
Noting that the summit has provided a platform for discussions about the EU expansion process.
“We said that the entry of Moldova in the EU is an investment in our democracy and regional security. Chisinau authorities are firmly configured to carry out reforms that will allow us to create European living conditions at home,” Sandu said.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the president also discussed the European path of Moldova and the bilateral agenda of the country with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovachevski, Prime Minister of Bulgaria Nikolai Denkov and Prime Minister of Croatia Andrei Phadkovich.
“joining the European Union is a project of our country, through which we will fulfill Moldavians to live in peace and well -being. The place of Moldova is among the strong and free countries of the world,” Maya Sandu emphasized.
