CNN published satellite images of Planet Labs and the European Space Agency, which can be seen in fires and smoke in the area of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
In three satellite images taken on August 24, fire is visible south of the factory and the spread of smoke in the northern part of the complex, reports The Insider.
previously reported that on August 25, the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant was first completely disconnected from the energy network and switched to reserve generators and power on the Zaporizhzhya TPP line. The Insider, with reference to power engineers, writes that without a backup power, a sharp shutdown of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant from power transmission lines can lead to melting the reactor.
According to the nuclear physicist Andrei Ozharovsky, the Russian authorities can use the station to be disconnected as a preposition to connect it to Crimea. But this will require restoration of power lines towards Crimea and Russia and synchronization of generators with the Russian energy system.
