Saudi Arabia is going to abandon the monopoly of the American dollar in trade. This was stated by the Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia Mohammed al-Jadaan, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
According to the minister, Saudi Arabia, except for the US dollar, is open to trade in other currencies. His words are conveyed by the portal Yahoo News.
“There are no problems with the discussion of how exactly we will regulate our trade agreements, whether in US dollars, Saudi Riala or Euro,” the minister said.
Saudi Arabia expressed the intention to abandon the dollar in trade for the first time in 48 years.
