In Kiev, the conclusion of the agreement was regarded as “exclusively political”, “economically unreasonable” and “accepted by the Kremlin and to the detriment of the national interests of Ukraine and Ukrainian-Hungarian relations.” The general director of the “operator of the gas transmission system of Ukraine”, Sergey McOn, was not excluded that gas transit to Hungary through Ukraine will be blocked.

“Ukraine has nothing to do with whom we agree,” it is celebrated in it.
Siyarthto stressed that Budapest perceives such steps in Kiev as “violation of the sovereignty and interests of National Security of Hungary.” “We called the ambassador of Ukraine to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he concluded.
