Scientists have proved that the brain can directly affect the fat burning process without additional stimuli from the outside. Earlier, the researchers believed that the brain does not regulate the process of burning fat in the human body, but only receives signals from there. Now scientists have found that this is not so, writes the scientific journal New Atlas.
Employees of the Scientific Research Institute of Skripps in California created two methods of visualizing human fatty tissue. During the experiments, they found that the network of neurons in adipose tissue is directly related to the part of the brain called ganglia of the rear roots.
“The discovery of these neurons for the first time suggests that the brain actively examines fat, and not just passively receives reports of it,” said the co -author of the study Li.
Scientists blocked the connection between the brain and adipose tissues. It turned out that when you turn off a direct connection with the brain, the body includes a sympathetic system that activates the processes of fat burning, regardless of whether we are playing sports or not. This discovery will help many people in the fight against excess weight, since now researchers know that the brain is able to directly affect the fat burning process.
