Coronavirus infection can lead to the development of Guien syndrome – Barre, writes Eurekalert! With reference to the work of scientists from the University of Birmingham.

As the results showed, the first symptoms of the disease – numbness of the feet and brushes of hands, muscle weakness and pain, as well as coordination problems. It was them that they revealed to the participants in the study that had a coronavirus in light and severe forms.
Hyien – Barre syndrome is an acute autoimmune inflammatory polyradiculoneuropathy, manifested by sluggish paresis, sensitivity disorders, vegetative disorders. It was first described by French doctors Georges Guyen and Jean Barre in 1916.
