Scientists revealed danger of variety of “Omikron”

Denmark’s scientists found out that the Oomikron strain breeding is even more infected than the original version. This is reported in a press release on MedicalXpress, reports lenta.ru.

18 thousand people took part in the study. It turned out that a patient infected with BA.2 is a 39 percent chance to transfer the virus to another family member at home during the week. For the usual strain of Omicron BA.1, this risk was 29 percent. According to scientists, the breeding, called “Stels-Omicron”, is more likely to infect non-nursed people.

At the moment, scientists monitor the transmission of the breeding and the severity of the disease caused by them, but international data suggests that it can quickly spread. BA.2 was revealed at the beginning of 2022. He quickly became dominant in Denmark, pushing out the first version of “Oomikron”.
