Scientists of the North-West University in the United States found that people with a light form of COVID-19, but suffering from a long post-person syndrome, there are violations in brain activity. The consequences of coronavirus are disclosed in an article published in the journal Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, writes Lenta.ru.
Experts analyzed the information received from the state medical institutions 21, about hundred patients with coronavirus infection SARS-COV-2, which were not hospitalized. It turned out that 85 percent of the patients were observed at at least four neurological symptoms, including crimped consciousness, headaches, numbness or tingling. Other common symptoms included loss of taste or smell, impairment, dizziness or ringing in the ears.
In most cases, neurological symptoms continued for several months, and sometimes almost a year. Many patients reported on depressive or anxious state, which may indicate the increased risk of long-term symptoms in people with mental disorders.
