Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu and a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CCP, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Van and took part in the second meeting of the strategic dialogue between Kazakhstan and China. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
China Foreign Minister arrived on a working visit to Almaty to participate in a meeting of foreign ministers in the Central Asia – China format, which will be held on April 26th.
During a meeting of the strategic dialogue, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of political, trade, economic and cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The ministers examined the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest and high levels, and also noted the positive dynamics of the development of Kazakh-Chinese relations throughout the spectrum of bilateral interaction.
Particular attention was paid to joint efforts to build up trade and economic ties. The need to develop new approaches in the joint development of industrial-investment, energy, transit, transit and innovative cooperation, including an increase in Kazakhstan’s non-resource, to China, was emphasized.
“Our all -weather interaction is not subject to geopolitical challenges and conjunctural trends. China is not just a good neighbor and a reliable friend, but a close country with comprehensive ties,” Nurtleu said.
In turn, Van said that Beijing considers Kazakhstan as a priority partner in the foreign policy of China in relation to neighboring countries.
“China firmly supports Kazakhstan’s efforts in protecting its territorial integrity, sovereignty, security, as well as in the development of the country in accordance with its national characteristics,” said Van,
The heads of foreign policy departments discussed the schedule of the upcoming bilateral visits and events this year, as well as “checked the clock” on topical issues of the international agenda.
Following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RK-KNR was signed for 2026-2028 and the exchange of notes on the establishment of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the city of Guangzhou.
Last year, bilateral trade between countries reached a record mark of $ 43.8 billion. Both countries seek to double the volume of mutual trade in the near future. The Kazakh-Chinese investment pool includes 224 projects worth about 66.4 billion dollars.
