At 07:00 local time, more than 6.5 thousand polling stations opened in the country and abroad. Voting will end 19:00.
The struggle for the post of head of state is conducted by the current Zoran Milanovich and ex-Minister of Science, Education and Sports Dragan Primoraz from the ruling Croatian democratic community (HDZ).
It is expected that the first unofficial election results will be announced until midnight.
The term of powers of the presidents is limited by two full terms.
Zoran Milanovich in the first round 49.1 percent of the vote, and Draggan Primoraz is 19.4 percent.
