Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg today (27 May 2022) welcomed 10 young content creators from across Allied countries (Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Spain, the UK, and the US) to the NATO Headquarters as part of the “Protect the Future” campaign.
The Secretary General thanked the participants for their interest in the Alliance and underlined that NATO provides the security which allows young people to live, work, study, and communicate how they choose, freedoms under threat around the world today from authoritarian regimes.
The Protect the Future campaign aims to connect young people to the Alliance and gives them a voice in NATO’s ongoing adaptation. As well as an interactive question and answer session with the Secretary General, the participants met NATO experts working on key challenges from cyber security to climate change.
Together these young creators represent hundreds of thousands of followers around the world across key social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. The Protect the Future campaign runs until the end of the year, with further events to be announced.
