The seismic research vessel of Turkey Oruç Reis reached the coast of Somalia.

The minister recalled that the Oruç Reis vessel began its way with the Stambul Strait on October 5.
The ship will collect seismic data on licensed areas
ORUS REIS research vessel for the development of Turkish engineers will reach Somalia coast, tracing along the route from the Mediterranean Sea, the Suez Canal and the Red Sea.
Oruç Reis research vessel, in addition to two frigates, will be accompanied by the auxiliary ship Zağanos Paşa, the Sancar platform support ship and the ATAMAN tracking ship, as well as two frigates of the command of the naval forces.
The ship will reach the coast of the somali closer to the end of October and will collect seismic data in three licensed areas, the area of each of which is about 5 thousand square kilometers.
In this regard, it is assumed that the work will last about 7 months.
The collected data will be processed and analyzed in Ankara. If the results are positive, the drilling stage will begin. After completion of the work, it is planned to return the vessel to Turkey.
