Senate of Kazakhstan approved an agreement on border regime with Turkmenistan

Kazakhstan senators considered and approved the law “On ratification of the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the regime of the state border”, the press service of the Senate of Kazakhstan (Upper House of the Parliament of the Republic) reports.

The agreement provides for the regulation of legal relations between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the state border. In particular, the norms of the law define the procedure for protecting the state border, its intersection, transportation of goods and other property.

The document also includes the issues of conducting entrepreneurial, fishing or other activities on the state border, in border zones and water area.

In this case, the ways of solving incidents that may arise on the border from a legal point of view are streamlined.

Senate deputy Alisher Satvaldiev, whose words are given by Kazinform, recalled that there is currently one border unit that protects the Kazakh-Turkmen state border, 4 border outposts and 9 technical controls equipped with radar stations, 2 pass points.
