Serbia wants to reduce dependence on Russian gas at expense of Azerbaijan

Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy Serbia Zoran Mikhailovich told about the plans of the authorities of the country from the fall of 2023 to reduce gas dependence on Russia by deliveries from Greece and Azerbaijan, RIA Novosti reports.

According to her, Serbia is still dependent on one supplier – Russia.

“We have two routes of gas flow – through Hungary and Bulgaria, but we are dependent on Russia. Our interconnector with Bulgaria, which will be ready next year, will give the opportunity to negotiate and from September next year to get liquefied gas from Greece from September to contact With gas from Azerbaijan, thereby reducing our dependence, “she said.
